Donald Trump’s Money To The Establishment

Donald Trump has been giving donations as far back as he could, to scores of candidates in both parties. He claims that he is an outsider, but is that really true? What person can call themself an outsider when they’ve been buying influence in Washington DC for decades. No Mr. Trump, you’re not and outsider. You’re part of the very system you’ve now supposedly come to criticize.

In this post, I’ll give you candidates and incumbents Donald has given donations to from just the Republican Establishment. This is based off of Open Secrets data. I’d like for you to read through these names, then tell me, in all honesty, whether Donald Trump is an outsider or not. You decide.

Criteria: people involved in the Establishment are determined by using the FreedomWorks Scorecard from the 2014 period of the 113th Congress, having a percentage below 75%. These will only include Republicans from the Establishment, and not Democrats. That will be in a separate post coming soon. The candidates will be in alphabetical order, last name to first name.

More relevant names are bolded. If a person lacks a numerical score, that’s because they do not fall within the time-period that FreedomWorks has been doing their scorecard, but sufficient means were found to include them as an Establishment Republican. If a person has a distinction between two amounts listed, one is the money that Donald Trump received from their campaign, and the second is the amount Trump gave to that campaign.

NOTE: THESE ARE FULL AMOUNTS, TALLIED UP FROM EACH CONTRIBUTION.
